Find your MBTI-style personality type in 64 everyday questions

The 16 MBTI types describe personality as a combination of four preferences, an idea that grew out of Carl Jung's theory of psychological types and was later developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers. Each type is a four-letter code, such as INFJ, ENTP or ISTJ, and each letter points to one side of a pair. Nobody is purely one side; the code simply shows which side you lean on more often.

The four letters, explained

E or I – Extraversion or Introversion: where your energy comes from, outward activity and people or inward reflection.
N or S – Intuition or Sensing: whether you notice possibilities and patterns first or concrete facts and details.
T or F – Thinking or Feeling: whether you weigh choices mainly by logic and consistency or by values and their effect on people.
J or P – Judging or Perceiving: whether you like settled plans and closure or open options and flexibility.

How the test is scored

You will rate 64 short, situational statements about work, friends, learning, planning and decisions on a five-point scale. Each pair of letters has 16 statements, 8 for each side. Your agreement points are added up per side, and the side with the higher total gives you that letter. The four letters together form your type. The test takes about 15 minutes.

What your result includes

Your result page describes how you think and decide, how you tend to work, what you bring to friendships and love, how stress shows up for you, three practical habits that help, and the types you usually click with.
